 Statistics and Quantitative Methods

The purpose of the Statistics course is to provide the base knowledge for an initial approach to statistics, aimed at those who have not had, or feel that they have not had, adequate formation in this field.
Particular attention is given to the most important defining and formal language aspects; problems regarding data sensitivity and reading the results; the topic of sources is discussed and the elementary techniques for organizing and handling statistic materials are introduced.

The purpose of the Quantitative Methods course is to gather objective and synthetic information from quantitative and qualitative statistical data within a context of increased availability of information provided by the new technologies.
In particular, focus is given to the use of position indicators (averages), variability/mutability indicators and relations (connection, correlation, association, etc.) among various qualitative and quantitative characters, in addition to sampling and construction techniques for adequate statistical estimators.
These tools are applied to the analysis of market studies, to the forecast of economic time series, the preparation of data and indicators for marketing in-depth analyses also through the use of multivariate statistical analysis methods.
